    1 Objective: students will be able to generate parts of speech words- nouns, verbs, and adjectives

    This site has mad lib practice pages.
    3 Assessment: Students will write their own words in the blanks for nouns, verbs, and adjectives. When they have completed filling in the blanks a story will appear. Students will display their story on the screen and raise their hand. I will come over and read the story to see if they chose the right parts of speech.

    Objective: Students will utilize inferential context clues to answer comprehension questions.

    Students will read through a tutorial on how to spot key words. Students will then read a passage and answer questions using key words.

    Assessment Strategy: Students will answer questions using tutorial quizzes. Answers will be assessed through observations.

    1. objective: The students will be able to tell what a seed needs to grow.

    3. Assessment: The students will be shown using syncroneyes how to get to the site. The students will brainstorm what a seed needs prior to viewing the site. Then, the class will view the pages of the site to learn about what conditions a seed needs to grow from inside the classroom. We would then make a list of those conditions we learned about and provide them to the seeds we would then grown in the classroom.

    The student will create a word search puzzle from the vocabulary list from Unit 3.

    The student will print out the puzzle in blank form and solve it for home work.

    The objective of this lesson will be to reinforce the students ability to count money when given a specific amount. Prior to the lesson the student will review the sight of and value of the penny, nickel, dime and quarter

    I will assess this lesson two ways. I will walk around and watch the students progress and the students will also have to write down three problems and which coins were used to come to the total.

    I first will say that I use My Teacher Pages-the Message Board-for students to type their spelling words in complete sentences. I also do this for ABC order. Students do NOT give their name. Rather, they are each assigned a number. I then post it for others to view. We can also visit everyone’s sentences and edit them-looking for capita letters, correct punctuation, etc.

    With the use of the above website, students will draw 5 boxes one on top of the other in their writing journals. They will then go to this website and use this resource to label the 5 layers of soil and give 1 fact about each. I will asses by reading their journals.

    Students will use the above link to construct Christopher Columbus’s boat. I will assess based on how the finished product looks.

    Students will go to this site and select 2 dinosaurs. They will complete a venn diagram using the two dinosaurs they selected.

    Students will visit this site and select 5 facts about John Chapman. They will write these in their writing journals.

    The objective of this lesson is for the students to utilize the above website to practice writing words in alphbetical order. The students will type in spelling words off a list and follow the rules of the game on the website.

    The children will be assessed by teacher observation and also a print out of the completed list.


  9.   

    Objective: Students will brainstorm a list of verbs and adjectives to describe a shape.

    Activity: In a whole group activity using the laptop/projector, the class will brainstorm a list of words to describe a shape (ex. a cloud).
    The words generated will be typed by the teacher and put into a template for a cloud shape. A shape poem will be the end result.

    Objective-
    The students will be able to identify long i words and find them in a poem

    Students will then generate their own list of long i words and illustrate on art pad

    Assessment- Students will complete a sound search and a word search on the site. Observe while the students are completing this activity. The site gives a percentage after completion. Also, check the students individual list of words created on art pad.
