On the Trails

Note: These are the directions I am giving to a third grade teacher and class today.

Hi Kids,

Today you are going to:

• build 3 different monsters using the Monster Exchange Monster Building page
• use Colored Tabs – to help you keep track of open web pages
• use Quicknote – to help you follow my directions

Here is how:

1. Login to our network
2. Open Firefox
3. Click on Teacher Directories
4. Click on the cactus
5. Scroll down to the Monster Exchange Project (row 5, column A) and click on it.
6. Open each link (click on the blue words) – these links will open in new tabs
7. Click on the tab that says Pictures – and take 3 minutes to build any monster you wish
8. Click on the tab that says Ms. Appleface
9. Click on the Quicknote icon which is located below the green back arrow.
10. Right click on the directions on the Ms. Appleface web page (they start out with 1.) Choose Ms. Appleface)
11. Choose Select All from the drop down menu.
12. Click hold and drag on the highlighted text and drop the text onto Quicknote
13. Click on the Pictures tab and try to build Ms. Appleface according to my directions.
14. When you are done with building Ms. Appleface, do the following:
    1. Right click on any of the words on QuickNote and choose select all
    2. Press the delete key on the keyboard (Northeast of the the Enter key)
    3. Click on the tab that says Mr. Electric
    4. Repeat steps 10 – 14
