Purpose is to create a student perception survey
Perception – what students perceive to be happening
Selection of 15 students by teachers
Meet with all 15 students
Start on page 30 of Dr. Loehr’s book
Type out what is on the flip chart paper
Initial brainstorm is critical to the beginning
pages 36 – 37 Harvest criteria – we positively state the brainstormed ideas – The harvested criteria comes from the brainstorm
- I can add criteria if it is not from the brainstormed items
Add the 14 common core criteria to the survey document
Intentionally create a school culture that promotes student achievement
- Create draft #1 of the survey
- Consult with principal
- Take draft #1 and meet with the resource group (do you like? do you want to change? do you want to add/delete?) – don’t take the flip chart paper
- Read the survey – pause and write down comments from the resource group
- Keep track of revisions
- Create draft #2
- Send Dr. Loehr draft #1
