The Importance of Keyboarding

In June of 2005, I wrote a blog post called “Shouldn’t we Start Teaching Keyboarding as Often as Handwriting“.  I really believe that keyboarding can really improve student learning. Using a word processor to write is completely different writing than using a pen/pencil and paper.  I think we should get kids as early as 5 and 6 to learn where the keys are on the keyboard.  I think kids at age 7 and 8 can practice good keyboarding technique and kids 9 & 10 can start to increase their speed.

This is all blibber-blabber unless someone started to create a curriculum and that is exactly what I have been working on these past few days.  I used a Google Spreadsheet to organize it.  Here it is thus far.
