    • Today I accidentally typed in shive6 – my gmail address and the beginning part of several email addresses I had in my life – and discovered a post wrote in 1997 – http://www.weightsnet.com/weights/issue/1423 (to find it use the find function of your browser – Ctrl-f or Apple -f and then type in shively.

    I got a good laugh at what I wrote 10 years ago, but then my ed-tech strategies mind starting working. This post is a great example of needing to be very careful about what you post on the web. Even though this was an innocent post, it is still hanging around some server out there. Spooky!

    So, teach your kids that anything out on the web should be assumed to be a permanent fixture of the web – a thread on the web so to speak.

    So…post with thought in mind – you never know when you will google yourself – hopefully you will find good things!
