…and Colleges too!
Dr. Scott McLeod, Dangerously Irrelevant, writes about how unprepared many school administrators are when it comes to making technology decisions for their schools. I also teach in a college and am currently pursuing my School District Administrator Certification in the state of New York.
I have one class left to take and there has been VERY little exposure to technology in my courses. In fact, when I spoke to the department chair, she said that they had to take out the only technology prep course to cut the hours down.
So, not only are admins. unprepared because most are not techies, but my degree program doesn’t expose them to technology decision making either.
We should focus on integrating technology throughout all the courses….ah, maybe an opportunity here!
Does anyone else find that their admin. degree programs support admin technology decision making?
