Reading Comprehension Activity on the Web

I just completed a lesson with Kindergarten children with the Starfall Learn to Read site. We were working on reading comprehension. I had the kids listen to the story as I read it and then they painted answers using the artpad program.  I hated the results.

The painting skills required superseded their comprehension ability.  So then it hit me, as I left the class.  If I asked direct questions, students could click on the words and I could see all the computers at once.  They could hear the word read to them and this would provide the immediate feedback they needed.

Starfall color shocks the words for them, thus reinforcing word decoding skills.  Live and learn.
