CPS Vision
Vision:
Schools are being led by people who do not know how to manage technology. They do not know how it fits into the instructional process. I wrote a blog about this, below is an excerpt:
This past summer, I attended a leadership conference in Albany. At one of the keynotes, two young boys got up on stage and fielded questions about their social behavior and how it relates to technology. One of the boys was asked why he would prefer to use Skype to talk to his friends rather than go to their house. His response – “When using technology I can do so many more things. I can Skype – talk – to many people all at once and I can IM another friend and do my homework at the same time.”
Conference Calls in the house of an everyday kid? That is what is going on today and that is what kids PREFER to do. http://btcactus.edublogs.org/2007/04/05/it-is-what-the-kids-prefer/
I intend to use the Creative Problem Solving Process to help guide school leaders into designing lessons that will teach our children in this new century. I want schools to teach children how to collaborate, innovate, solve problems and learn in new ways.
I intend to make $225, 000.00 a year annually by presenting at conferences, conducting CPS sessions, writing (blogs, books, and whatever new medium comes along), developing curriculum that uses CPS as the foundation, podcasting my ideas and by creating web-based learning experiences using Flash, iMovie, Windows Movie Maker and other technologies.
I would like to start practicing using CPS right now. This process has changed the way I think and I want to share that power with everyone.
